It's not just the Indian cricket team that was in Adelaide - had a great time drawing the staff at TSA Adelaide's Christmas Function. (And no, that isn't Virat Kohli in the slideshow - it's his doppelganger).
Been a very busy time for commissions from people all over Australia. Commissioned caricatures are such an excellent gift because they are hand crafted one – of’s and highly personalised.
Tommy Lee Jones. I'm open to any other celebs you think need to be shown with their caricatures. Any suggestions?
Just a few of the celebs who have realized that their lives were bleak, gray, meaningless and without direction without a Paul's Caricature.
What a pleasure to be asked to draw at Kylie and Adam's wedding reception.
Been having a lot of fun creating commissioned gift caricatures for all sorts of people and all sorts of reasons. Commissioned caricatures are unique as there's not another quite like it in the world. They capture a moment which is so personal and personalised. It's a great honour to be asked to create one and to be trusted to make the piece they are hoping for.
Paula and Nigel's wedding reception at the Lakes Resort Hotel was so much fun to draw at. Plus - dancing after midnight!
Vila and Bich's wedding reception at Ayer's House brilliantly photographed by Jason Wong Photography. Great times.
Congratulations to Dorothy on her 80th birthday. Still full of life, fun and energy.
Real pleasure to get to draw at Carole and Steve's joint 60th last night. On again, off again with the recent global unpleasantness, the party eventually happened as a trip back to the 60's.
great to see more couples getting married despite trying social circumstances. Congratulations to Vila and Bich and their lovely guests for a wonderful evening at Ayer's House.
Vince Santostefano was presented with this A1 full colour caricature a few weeks ago. That's Roxby Downs in the distance.
I really enjoy creating purpose specific illustrations for clients with particular needs. Many times, people know what they want in their head but they can't express it as an image. That's where I come in. After discussions and bouncing around ideas, I come up with a concept for approval which i then take through to completion. Here are a couple of images made for Red Desert Reptiles for use in their promotional materials and signage. These are designed to specifications given by the client. And here's another for a stock feed company. Here's where caricature and illustration meet. This is a piece for W E Hughes construction to celebrate the life and contribution of the founder. It was very touching to be asked to create this image as a part of a package for the company run by the family.
It's always an honour as well as a pleasure to be commissioned to create a gift caricature. I consider being trusted to create a good likeness within a humorous setting to be a great responsibility and a lot of fun. They make a terrific point of interest in a room or office. They can also be used for marketing, website illustration, printing, signage etc.
Even though there haven't been as many events for me to do live caricatures at people have still been commissioning gift caricatures. Here are a few recent ones. Black and whites, colour, A4, A3, framed or not. There are more to show but we have to wait until the recipients have been given them before I can post. Gift caricatures are so special because there's only ever going to be one of its kind in the world. What a wonderful day to get back into the swing of live caricature drawing at events. Thanks to Danielle for inviting me to draw at her sister Kyleigh's Bridal Shower at the National Wine Centre Adelaide.
So much fun drawing guests at Amber and Steven's wedding held at the beautiful Jacob's Creek Retreat.
By now I have drawn roughly 80 thousand quick sketch caricatures. Like all artists / creators, there are some pieces I have made which I have a higher regard for than other. I thought I'd set myself the challenge of choosing my "Top Ten In No Particular Order" and repost them here for you. |
